Tester Terms

These terms are between you and Sundermarch, an independent game project ("we", "us") and apply when you apply to test, and while you test, Sundermarch. They add to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Questions: contact@sundermarch.gg.

1. What testing is

You're helping us test Sundermarch while it's being built. Test builds are unfinished: expect bugs, crashes, missing features and changes.

Nothing in a test build is final. Characters, items and progress from testing may be reset or deleted at any time.

2. Who can test

You must be 18 or older and have a Sundermarch account. Testers are invited in waves. Applying doesn't guarantee a place, and we don't have to give reasons for our choices. Testing is voluntary and unpaid; testers are not employees or contractors.

3. Keeping tests confidential

Unless we tell you a test is open for sharing, keep what you see in test builds private. Don't share screenshots, videos, streams, test builds or details of unreleased content outside the private tester areas.

This lasts until we publicly release that content, or say clearly that it, or a test, can be shared. Once something is public, you're free to talk about it. If you break this, we may end your tester access, and we may ask you to remove anything you shared.

4. Test builds and access

Test builds are for your own testing only. Don't share, sell or copy them, try to take them apart, or let anyone else use your access. Delete them when we ask.

Test builds are unfinished software provided "as is". They may crash, misbehave or lose progress. Please keep backups of anything on your PC that matters to you.

5. Feedback

Please give honest feedback and report bugs. By sending feedback, bug reports, suggestions or ideas, you agree we may use them freely, in any way, to develop Sundermarch, with no payment or credit owed to you.

6. Conduct

The Sundermarch community standards apply in tests and tester areas. If you find an exploit, report it to the team privately instead of using or spreading it.

7. Leaving, and ending access

You can stop testing at any time by withdrawing your application or deleting your account. We may end your tester access at any time, for example if these terms are broken.

8. Your information

Your application holds only your region, your confirmation that you're 18 or older, which version of these terms you accepted and when, and anything you choose to tell us. We don't ask for your PC specs, real name, address or date of birth.

We use your application only to organise testing. You can see it, edit it (until it's reviewed) and withdraw it from your account page. Withdrawing deletes it. If you're never invited, we delete your application 12 months after you send it.

If you're invited, we may later ask about your PC to help with testing, and only then. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

These terms may change. We'll ask you to accept important changes before you keep testing.
